These are objects created as my undergraduate project. I decided to set my topic on symmetry. Symmetry is always present, in your everyday life, in art, in science and much more. I read a lot about it, but I wanted to look for very special cases of symmetry. I felt like a detective hunting down special cases of symmetry which led me to create a hard boiled detective style for this project.
I created a book that is organised like a detective report with its different files. In this book I distinguished five special cases of symmetry, which I picked out of different fields. These five cases were demonstrated on five 'pieces of evidence'. Those pieces of evidence, visualised in the form of symmetry jewellery, were shown at an exhibition prepared like the scene of a crime. The tools for the detective of symmetry became branded with a logo consisting of common and iconic detectives tools like magnifier glass and a pipe. The business cards are one of those tools, which you can use as a magnifier glass. Additionally I created a briefcase and stamp which looks like a signet ring.
