Inspired by gothic fonts that fascinated me during my calligraphy courses, I created my own typeface and digitalised it. To show examples of my new typeface I printed german neologisms of teenage slang, because my new typeface itself is also a 'neologism': It is a new font created out of old font styles. The german teenage slang words, I used to show my font AREV, for instance 'kinderkoks' and 'duftgemüse' with the literal meaning of 'children´s cocaine' and 'perfume vegetables' are neologisms for 'icing sugar' and 'bouquet of flowers'. To demonstrate my typeface I also used oldfashioned materials like wood and stone to reuse them, interpret them new as a display for my neologism typeface.
